Glenview Alliance is hiring a part-time Director of Music Development. The scope of the job description is designed to reflect the vision and trajectory of the role. We understand that it will take time for this description to be fully realized.
Summary
The Director of Music Development oversees the planning, development, and execution of worship services using pastoral and nurturing gifts. This person provides leadership, training, and mentoring for worship leaders and volunteers. The role emphasizes aligning worship practices with Glenview Alliance’s mission and theology, fostering personal and spiritual growth within the worship team, and working closely with pastoral staff to shape the church’s worship culture. The director also helps develop new talent, manages scheduling, and ensures technical excellence, all with the goal of helping people experience God in ways that can be transformative.
Qualifications
· A Member in good standing with Glenview Alliance.
· Abide by the qualifications for leaders in 1 Timothy 3:1-13 and Titus 1:6-9.
· Have the time, emotional capacity, and moral & spiritual discernment to serve.
· Be hungry, humble, and smart – at GAC, we look for these three characteristics in our leaders:
o Hungry – ready to grow with responsibility, learn spiritually & help others succeed.
o Humble – willing to serve others’ success, readily give praise, admit wrongs, and readily seek and grant forgiveness.
o Smart – have “people smarts” in that he/she can read a room quickly to determine the atmosphere and adapt to those circumstances; this person understands how he/she comes across to others and recognizes the power/effect their words and presence have on others.
· Have a working knowledge of Glenview’s governmental structure and administrative aspects.

Help identify the call to leadership within the team and develop potential leaders.
Shepherd those in the worship ministry.

Establish workshops tailored to the worship team’s needs.
Monitor the calendar and schedule team members accordingly.
Develop and manage an annual budget.

· Capable of music arrangement, coordination, songwriting, and music theory
· Capable of rehearsal planning and stage management
