Spiritual Formation Director

Position Summary
The Spiritual Formation Director provides visionary leadership and strategic oversight for the church’s Spiritual Formation Pathway, helping people move from first-time guests to mature, reproducing disciples of Jesus Christ. This leader develops and implements a comprehensive discipleship strategy that equips individuals of all ages to know Christ deeply, grow in biblical maturity, serve faithfully, and make disciples.

Working closely with the Lead Pastor, Family Ministries Director along with other ministry leaders, the Spiritual Formation Director ensures that every ministry aligns with the church’s mission and creates intentional next steps for measurable spiritual growth.

Primary Responsibilities

Leadership & Vision
Develop, communicate, and continually refine the church’s Spiritual Formation Pathway.
Create clear and measurable next steps that guide individuals from spiritual consumerism to mature discipleship.
Ensure the pathway is simple, intentional, and integrated across all church ministries.
Evaluate and improve the effectiveness of discipleship environments using measurable outcomes.

Ministry Oversight
Provide leadership and oversight for:
Each Stage of the Spiritual Formation Pathway with the Support of other Team Leads.
Pastoring the Seats
Party w/ the Pastors (Quarterly)
Multipliers Training (Quarterly)
Multipliers Serve Teams (Quarterly)
Freedom Groups/Conference (Yearly) – Paul & Leslie & Mary E. (Alexis)
Practicing the Way (seasonal 3x)
Back to the Gospel (seasonal 3x)
Armored UP Training (seasonal 3x)
Small Groups (seasonal 6x)
Men/Women Groups (2x per Year)
Level Up Pastoral, Ministerial, Planter Formation (David)

Leadership Oversight
Conduct monthly one-on-one check-ins with each team leader to provide encouragement, accountability, coaching, and ministry support.
Pray regularly with team leaders and encourage their personal spiritual growth.
Help leaders identify goals, celebrate wins, and navigate challenges.
Equip leaders with resources, training, and opportunities for continued development.

Planning & Administration
Develop Spiritual Formation Pathway calendars and annual goals.
Oversee budgets and resource allocation.
Maintain safety policies and volunteer screening procedures.
Coordinate events, trainings, and retreats.

Collaboration
Work closely with church staff and ministry leaders to create seamless transitions between each Spiritual Formation Stage/Phase.
Participate in staff meetings and church-wide planning.
Support the overall vision and mission of the church.

Assist in completing and the implementation of the Spiritual Formation Pathway.
Pastor the Seats on Sunday Mornings.
Host and connect with potential future Spiritual Formation Team Members.
