Position Summary

Join us at e4c as a Personal Financial Administrator. The Personal Financial Administrator provides financial literacy coaching and administers the personal finances for vulnerable adults in Edmonton. This role supports individuals including those with substance use disorders, or residing in elder care facilities or supportive housing, who are unable to manage their own finances due to cognitive or physical challenges. 

Schedule

* Monday to Friday; 8:00AM – 4:30PM

Key Responsibilities

* Manage the personal finances of a caseload of 60-80 clients.
* Receive income, and pay monthly expenses, including accommodation, care charges, food, medical needs, and personal items.
* Provide financial literacy and coaching to help clients set goals, navigate financial crises, and access unclaimed benefits.
* Meet with clients in community or in office regularly to conduct intakes and financial coaching.
* Build trusting relationships with clients to understand their unique needs and goals.
* Complete and maintain accurate records of all transactions and documentation.
* Collaborate with social workers, care home staff, and community partners.

Qualifications

Education

* Post-secondary education in finance, accounting, social work, community service or a related field

Certification

* Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and vehicle
* Proof of vehicle insurance (min. $2 million liability), registration and 3-year drivers abstract.

Experience

* 2+ years of experience working with vulnerable populations, in a coaching or life skills support role.
* Strong interpersonal, communication, and cultural competency skills.
* Strong skills in data entry, basic accounting, and Microsoft Office apps
