Math Lab Teacher – Upper School

We are seeking a qualified, dedicated, and student-focused Math Lab Teacher to support students in developing a strong understanding of mathematical concepts and improving academic performance. This role provides individualized and small-group instruction, homework assistance, and concept reinforcement in subjects including Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus. The ideal candidate will be able to re-teach material clearly and engagingly while fostering students’ confidence, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
The ideal candidate will support students’ academic achievement and spiritual growth within a Christ-centered learning environment. This role partners with parents, faculty and administration to deliver effective instruction and cultivate a safe and supportive environment aligned with GRACE’s mission and Statement of Faith.
Job Purpose
The teacher shall prayerfully help students develop the attitudes, skills, and knowledge that contribute to their growth as mature, capable, and responsible Christian men and women, to the praise and glory of God.

* Follow biblical principles, including Matthew 18, in communication and conflict resolution.
* Support and actively participate in the spiritual and community life of the school.
Essential Responsibilities
Instruction
* In-depth knowledge of mathematics topics such as algebra, geometry, calculus, and statistics
* Familiarity with state and national math curriculum standards
* Understanding of mathematical pedagogy and best practices for engaging students in problem-solving.
* Proficiency in using technology and mathematical software (e.g., graphing calculators, Desmos, GeoGebra) to enhance instruction.
* Use technology tools, such as graphing calculators, computer software, and online resources, to enhance instruction and student learning.
* Strong skills in differentiating instruction to support diverse learners, including students with varying math aptitudes
* Encourage inquiry-based learning, promoting problem-solving and critical thinking in math
* Ability to analyze assessment data to inform instruction and improve student outcomes.
* Ability to incorporate real-world applications of math to inspire student interest and engagement.
Communication & Collaboration
* Communicate regularly and professionally with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom activities.
* Collaborate with grade-level teams, support staff, and administration to support student success and school initiatives.
* Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school-wide events.
School & Professional Responsibilities
* Maintain a safe, orderly, and attractive classroom environment.
* Adhere to school policies, procedures, and the employee handbook.
* Always maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
* Supervise students and school activities as assigned.
* Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, flexibility, and emotional maturity.
* Engage in ongoing professional growth and reflective practice.
* Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head of School or Principal.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• ACSI Certification preferred; must be ACSI Certifiable.
• Prior teaching experience highly preferred.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of child development appropriate to the assigned grade level.
Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of standing or sitting, classroom mobility, bending as needed to assist students, and lifting to 15 pounds. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

He/she agrees to cooperate in every way with the school authorities and adhere to the policies adopted by the GRACE Board of Trustees. Failure to do so may result in probation, fines, suspension without pay, or termination of employment.
* The staff member agrees to follow the biblical pattern of Matthew 18:15-17 and Galatians 6:1 and always give a good report, refraining from negative criticism and murmuring. All differences are to be resolved by utilizing biblical principles.
