Lighting/LED Systems Programmer & Technician
This is a full time position that provides a salary commensurate with experience and outstanding benefits in a truth and grace filled environment.
The Lighting/LED Systems Technician & Programmer is responsible for the creative programming, operation, maintenance, and technical support of lighting and LED display systems across the HPUMC campus. This position serves as the primary lighting programmer and operator for Cornerstone Worship in Wesley Hall while partnering closely with the Communications Department to develop engaging LED wall content and visual experiences that enhance worship and special events. This position is also responsible for the screens located throughout the campus that are assigned to the Production team and will collaborate with other ministries as needed for the other screens.
In addition to leading lighting operations in Wesley Hall, this role provides campus-wide technical support for installed LED wall systems and related production technologies to ensure all systems remain reliable, visually engaging, and operational.

Working Hours: This is a full-time position working at least 36 hours per week.
Anticipated Schedule: Monday-Thursday 8:30am – 5pm (each day includes a 30 min unpaid lunch); Sunday 6:30am – 1pm
Event support hours vary greatly and during certain times of the year, additional hours may be necessary to meet the demands of the job. All church staff will be asked to support and serve for religious holidays and worship services including Christmas Eve and Easter.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Wesley Hall Lighting Direction
* Serve as the Lighting Technician and Programmer for all Cornerstone worship services and events in Wesley Hall.
* Design, program, and execute dynamic lighting environments that enhance worship experiences while supporting the vision of the Cornerstone ministry.
* Program and maintain lighting cues for weekly services, rehearsals, conferences, concerts, and special events.
* Operate lighting systems during services and events as assigned.
* Maintain consistency and excellence in all lighting presentations.
LED Content Programming & Creative Collaboration
* Partner directly with the Communications Department / Motion Graphics Designer to develop engaging LED wall content for worship services and ministry events.
* Coordinate visual storytelling through LED walls by aligning graphics, motion content, and lighting design.
* Program and manage LED wall playback systems for weekly worship and special events.
* Assist in developing new creative workflows and visual technologies that enhance the worship experience.
Wesley Hall Technical Oversight
* Serve as the primary technical resource for all lighting and LED systems located in Wesley Hall.
* Troubleshoot and resolve lighting, Pixera control system, and LED wall issues before and during events.
* Maintain lighting consoles, networked lighting infrastructure, DMX distribution, fixtures, LED processors, media servers, and related control systems.
* Coordinate preventive maintenance and firmware updates for lighting and LED equipment.
* Work closely with the Contemporary Worship Producer, integrators, and vendors on system upgrades and improvements.
Campus-Wide Systems Support
* Provide technical support and maintenance for installed LED wall systems throughout the HPUMC campus, including:
* Wesley Hall
* Confirmation Space
* Cox Chapel
* Diagnose and repair LED wall hardware and software issues.
* Coordinate repairs with manufacturers and vendors when necessary.
* Maintain spare parts inventory and recommend replacement equipment as needed.
* Assist with the setup, operation, and teardown of production systems for worship services, special events, and other campus activities as assigned by the Production Project Management Lead or Director of Production.
* Coordinate with Communications and Guest Experience teams to ensure Production related Videri digital signage is current, accurate, and visually consistent.
* Assist in assessing and coordinating media needs with worship, music, and other personnel to meet their needs best.
Production Support
* Assist the Production Department with technical support for campus events as needed.
* Support the designing, programming and implementation of lighting and LED system needs for concerts, conferences, ministry events, and special productions.
* Assist with installation, testing, and commissioning of new production technologies across all venues.
* Maintain organized documentation for lighting systems, LED walls, and control infrastructure.
* Coordinate and Execute Preventative Maintenance Schedules as requested by the AVL Systems Tech. Ensuring that the Preventative Maintenance schedule is followed and executed each month as planned.
* Support the AVL Systems Tech in ensuring all equipment, specifically lighting is properly maintained and supported across HPUMC.
* Assist videographers during shoots for lighting support when needed.
* Set up and operate lighting equipment for weekly worship services, classes, and special events as assigned by the Production Manager.
Education and Desired Skills
* Bachelor’s degree in an area of production; or equivalent experience.
* Professional experience programming and operating theatrical or concert lighting systems.
* Experience with LED wall technology, media servers, and video playback systems.
* Knowledge of DMX, Art-Net, sACN, lighting networking, and control system architecture.
* Experience troubleshooting professional lighting, LED display, and control systems.
* Familiarity with motion graphics workflows and collaboration with creative teams.
* Strong understanding of production technologies, including audio, video, and lighting integration.
* Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multiple departments.
* Ability to lift and move production equipment and safely work on ladders or lifts when required.
* Highly creative with a strong technical aptitude.
