What You’ll Do
As a Finance Specialist, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the daily financial operations of the church. Depending on experience and departmental needs, responsibilities may include:
Accounts payable and vendor management
Payroll processing and employee benefits administration
Employee onboarding and personnel records
Contribution and donor record processing
Bank deposits and account reconciliations
Credit card administration and reconciliations
Employee reimbursements
Sales tax and Form 1099 reporting
Financial reporting and budget support
Donor and vendor customer service
Maintaining confidential financial records
Assisting with process improvements and special projects
And any additional duties and responsibilities that may reasonably be assigned

Communicates well with staff, vendors, and church members
Can prioritize multiple responsibilities while meeting deadlines
Works well independently and as part of a team
Understands the importance of excellent stewardship in ministry

Qualifications
Experience in accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, finance, or a related field preferred
Knowledge of accounts payable, payroll, reconciliations, or financial reporting is a plus
Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Experience with accounting software preferred
Excellent organizational and time management skills
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
