Position Summary
The Events Director is responsible for leading the strategy, planning, and execution of all Mercy Culture Master Events, conferences, and key ministry initiatives. This role provides oversight of the Events Department, ensuring all events are aligned with organizational vision, executed with excellence, anddelivered on time and within scope. The Events Director partners with executive leadership and stakeholders to translate vision into scalable systems, processes, and experiences, while leading cross-functional collaboration across departments.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the planning, strategy, and execution of all Master Events, conferences, and major ministry initiatives
Partner with the Experience Director and stakeholders to define event vision, scope, and objectives
Oversee the Events Department, including hiring, training, and development of team members
Establish and manage event timelines, workflows, and operational systems
Provide oversight of event logistics (venues, layouts, vendors, production needs)
Ensure alignment and communication across departments (Production, Media, GXP, Hospitality, Facilities, etc.)
Monitor event progress, identify risks, and implement solutions
Oversee budget planning, expense tracking, and cost management
Lead Rally Week planning and execution for campus readiness
Direct post-event evaluations and continuous improvement processes
Ensure all events meet organizational standards for excellence and guest experience

Requirements
Professional Skills & Experience
5–8+ years of experience in event management, operations, or project management
Proven experience leading large-scale events or conferences
Strong leadership and team management experience
Advanced organizational and project management skills
Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Experience managing budgets and vendor relationships
Proficiency in Notion, Planning Center (PCO), Slack, Brushfire, Monday.com,Outlook, Google, Microsoft, or similar tools preferred
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Physical / Work Environment
Ability to lift and move event-related materials
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during events
Primarily onsite role; remote work limited unless approved
Membership Requirements
Must be a member of Mercy Culture Church or willing to become a member upon hire.
Leadership Standards
Mercy Culture Church Leaders & Staff must be in agreement with and abiding by the church’s Cultural Elements and Leadership Standards.
Work Schedule
This position is full-time time and requires onsite presence to collaborate with other teams and departments. Remote work is not available for this position.
Minimum of 40 hours a week
Increased workload during major events and Rally Week; may require working an adjusted work schedule during these times.
