South Coast Baptist College (SCBC) is seeking an outstanding and motivated Director of Sport to provide strategic leadership and oversight of the College’s co-curricular sporting program.
Sport plays a vital role in the life of the College, providing opportunities for students to develop character, resilience, teamwork, leadership, and a lifelong appreciation for healthy physical activity. This exciting leadership opportunity will see you oversee and continually enhance our Co-curricular Sport Program, College Carnivals, and the ongoing development of the College’s Centre of Sporting Excellence.
Working collaboratively with the Executive Dean of Co-Curriculum and Academies, Head of Health and Physical Education, Director of Football, Primary Sports Coordinator, and other key stakeholders, you will ensure all sporting programs align with the College’s Christian mission, values, and commitment to student wellbeing and excellence.

About the role
As the Director of Sport, you will:
Provide strategic leadership and direction for sport across the College.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing sporting culture.
Promote participation and excellence through a range of sporting pathways.
Lead the continued development of the College’s Centre of Sporting Excellence.
Coordinate and oversee College carnivals, co-curricular sport, community sport, and representative competitions.
Introduce and implement a specialist Strength & Conditioning program.
Manage coaches, coordinators, officials, and volunteers while building staff capability.
Allocate sporting responsibilities across College staff.
Represent the College within the Associated & Catholic Colleges (ACC) competition and attend relevant meetings and events.
Develop strong partnerships with parents, sporting organisations, and elite sporting pathways.
Manage the annual sport budget, including equipment, uniforms, transport, venues, and competition costs.
Ensure compliance with College procedures, governing bodies, and child safety requirements.

About you
You are a passionate and experienced leader who believes in the power of sport to positively shape young people.
You will bring:
Proven leadership experience within school, club, or community sport.
Strong organisational and project management skills.
Experience coordinating sporting programs, carnivals, and competitions.
The ability to inspire participation while fostering sporting excellence.
Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills.
Strong leadership with the ability to mentor and support staff and coaches.
Financial management and budgeting experience.
Confidence using technology and administration systems (Compass experience highly regarded).
A commitment to continuous improvement and professional growth.
A genuine commitment to supporting the Christian mission and values of the College.
Essential requirements
Current Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain.
Current National Police Clearance, or willingness to obtain.
Current First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain.
Personal faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ.
Active participation in a church or Christian community.
Acceptance of the College’s Statement of Faith.
Commitment to maintaining a child-safe environment.
Current Australian Driver’s Licence.
Desirable
Tertiary qualifications in Sport Management, Physical Education, Exercise Science, Education, or a related discipline.
Experience leading sport within a school environment.
Experience working with ACC or other interschool sporting competitions.
Experience implementing strength and conditioning or athlete development programs.
Experience using Compass or similar school management systems.
Established relationships with local sporting clubs and community organisations.
