Description
The Athletic Venue Assistant is responsible for the operational readiness, appearance, setup, and support of Christian Academy of Knoxville (“CAK”) athletic venues before, during, and after practices and events. This position supports practices, games, camps, and special events by helping ensure athletic venues are clean, organized, safe, functional, and prepared for daily use. The Athletic Venue Assistant assists with venue setup and teardown, equipment and storage organization, game-day operations, and routine inspections of athletic spaces. The position also serves as the day-to-day liaison between the Athletic Department and Facilities Department regarding routine facility needs, maintenance concerns, and repairs. Larger or unresolved facility issues will be communicated to the appropriate Athletic Department and Facilities leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Athletic Venue Operations
Perform daily inspections of athletic venues for cleanliness, appearance, organization, safety, and readiness.
Assist with setup and teardown for practices, competitions, camps, and other athletic or special events.
Help maintain athletic venues in a consistent state of readiness for daily practices, games, and events.
Assist with inventory, storage organization, and equipment movement.
Monitor venue usage and identify and report safety concerns through the appropriate channels.
Support game-day operations and event logistics as directed by the Athletic Directors.
Coordinate with coaches and event personnel regarding venue setup and readiness.
Assist with pre-event, in-event, and post-event venue needs as directed.
Help ensure athletic spaces are clean, organized, and properly returned to their normal condition following practices and events.
Athletics and Facilities Coordination
Serve as the day-to-day liaison between the Athletic Department and Facilities Department regarding routine athletic venue needs.
Identify maintenance and repair needs and communicate them to the Facilities Department.
Follow up on routine maintenance and repair requests to help ensure athletic venues remain safe, functional, and ready for use.
Communicate the status of facility needs and repairs to appropriate Athletic Department personnel.
Escalate significant, urgent, or unresolved facility concerns to the appropriate Athletic Department and Facilities leadership.
Other responsibilities as determined by the Athletic Director.

Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience working with athletics, facilities, events, grounds, maintenance, or a similar environment preferred but not required.
Experience with facility maintenance practices, building systems, equipment, or general maintenance is preferred.
Willingness and ability to perform hands-on work associated with athletic venue setup, teardown, equipment movement, cleaning and organization.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Dependable and able to complete assigned tasks with appropriate direction and follow-through.
Good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with coaches, staff, students, Facilities personnel, and event personnel.
Ability to identify and appropriately communicate facility, maintenance, and safety concerns.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate athletic practices and events.
Knowledge or awareness of the TSSAA sports calendar and NFHS/TSSAA safety rules preferred.
